RCI COMMITTEE (FUNCTIONAL GROUP)

Chemical Security & Emerging Threats

Director Message

Welcome to the Chemical Security & Emerging Threats page of the Responsible Care Indonesia.

Chemical security and emerging threats involve measures to protect against the unauthorized access, use, and theft of potentially dangerous chemicals. It includes protocols for handling, storing, and transporting chemicals to prevent misuse or accidental harm.

Furthermore, regulatory frameworks, initiatives and international agreements play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and secure handling of dangerous chemicals.

Chemical security faces evolving challenges from emerging threats, such as the potential use of chemicals in acts of non-state actors. Vigilance is crucial to prevent the misuse of chemicals for unpeaceful purposes. International cooperation and intelligence sharing play pivotal roles in identifying and addressing these threats.

Continuous research and development in technologies for detection, delay, deter and response are essential to stay ahead of potential chemical security risks. Regulatory frameworks and initiatives must adapt to the dynamic nature of emerging threats, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive and collaborative approach to chemical security.
