REGULATION DATABASE

RCI encourages the Indonesian chemical industry, especially its member companies, to comply with applicable regulations in Indonesia. The RCI Regulatory Affairs Committee participates in drafting regulations and provides input for improvement or refinement of regulations, by conducting discussions and submitting position papers (official letters) to the Government (relevant ministries/agencies).

At the regional level, RCI actively participates in the ASEAN Regulatory Cooperation Project (ARCP).

What is the ARCP?

As an initiative of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA)’s Global Regulatory Cooperation Task Force (GRC TF) under the auspices of the ICCA Chemical Policy and Health Leadership Group (CP&H LG), the ASEAN Regulatory Cooperation Project (ARCP) aims at addressing non-tariff barriers due to divergence of chemical management regulations by encouraging regulatory cooperation and convergence.

Based on the global principles for regulatory cooperation, the ARCP initiative is aligned to the directive of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) which promotes the use of good regulatory practices in helping to establish regulatory environments that encourages free and open trade and investment while protecting human health, safety, environment and security.

The ARCP is led by the American Chemistry Council (ACC), Europe Chemical Industry Associations (CEFIC), Japan Chemical Industry Association (JCIA), and Singapore Chemical Industry Council
