Singapore, November 2024 – Responsible Care Indonesia (RCI), represented by Mr. Setyabudhi Zuber, Secretary General and Senior Executive Director, participated as a speaker and panelist at the Process Innovation Asia Pacific 2024 conference in Singapore, held from 19–21 November 2024.
Mr. Setyabudhi shared key developments and best practices of the Responsible Care Program in Indonesia, emphasizing the industry’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship. He also discussed Southeast Asia’s shared commitment to environmental stewardship, elaborating on the region’s progress and the specific challenges still faced by local industries. These include gaps in regulatory enforcement, limited infrastructure for hazardous waste management, and the need for enhanced stakeholder collaboration. Further, it was also shared on how responsible innovation and industry-government partnerships have led to tangible improvements in waste management, emissions reduction, and occupational health and safety.
RCI’s contribution underscores its dedication to advancing responsible industrial practices and environmental protection in line with the UNEP objectives. By engaging in regional dialogue, RCI supports the broader goal of fostering sustainable development across Southeast Asia’s chemical industry.
