In 1994, Responsible Care\u00ae was introduced to the Indonesian Chemical Industry Club (ICIC), by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations \u2013 Chemical Industry Club (ASEAN CIC). Then on the 23rd<\/sup> of October 1997, the ICIC formed a separate organization called Komite Nasional Responsible Care\u00ae Indonesia <\/em>known as KN-RCI or National Committee for Responsible Care\u00ae Indonesia. In the early stages of its establishment, KN-RCI was supported by 24 founding companies, which consist of the six state-owned fertilizer companies, Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Pusri), Petrokimia Gresik, Pupuk Kujang, Pupuk Kaltim, Pupuk Iskandar Muda, and Pupuk Asean Aceh, and one national chemical company, namely Aneka Kimia Nusantara. Foreign Joint Ventures and Multinational chemical companies such as Bakrie Kasey, BASF, Bayer, Clariant, Dow Chemical, DuPont, Dyno Indria, Henkel, ICI Paints, Rohm and Haas, and Zeneca were also among the founding members. Ever since the beginning,<\/p>\n

KN-RCI is endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Environment, and Ministry of Manpower being government stakeholders. In 1999, KN-RCI was recognized as the 42nd<\/sup> member of the global Responsible Care\u00ae organization, by ICCA-RCLG at their meeting in Sao Paulo, Brazil.<\/p>\n

KN-RCI is also listed as a co-founder and active member of the Asia Pacific Responsible Care\u00ae Organization (APRO), which was established at the Asia Pacific Responsible Care\u00ae Conference (APRCC), in 2003 in Seoul, South Korea. The idea of establishing an Asia Pacific Responsible Care\u00ae Organization appeared at the Asia Pacific Responsible Care\u00ae Conference (APRCC) in Bali Indonesia, in October 2001.<\/p>\n

In 2017 the name of KN-RCI was officially simplified to \u201cResponsible Care\u00ae Indonesia\u201d (RCI).<\/p>\n

In Indonesia, the role of Federasi Industri Kimia Indonesia<\/em> (FIKI), or Federation of the Indonesian Chemical Industry to promote Responsible Care\u00ae, is coordinated and managed by Responsible Care\u00ae Indonesia (RCI) itself.<\/p>\n
